Jesus told Judas, “You always have the poor with you” (John 12:8). In today’s world, we might say, “We always have the homeless with us,” as we see their presence in cities, towns, and refugee camps everywhere.

Family In Distress is our 501(c)(3) outreach dedicated to empowering at-risk youth, individuals, and families in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Through training, mentoring, counseling, and intervention, we provide the tools and support needed to overcome crises, strengthen families, and build brighter futures.
Our mission is to restore hope by promoting self-sufficiency, reducing homelessness, preventing incarceration, and fostering reconciliation—because every life matters, and transformation is possible with the right support (Isaiah 61:1).

Why We Give: Right Reasons for Christian Giving
Giving specifically to the local church fulfills the biblical command and expectation that the members of the body would collectively love and support those who labor for the good of the body and its various members. In short, the Bible commands Christians to give where they are fed.
Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. (Galatians 6:6)
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.” (1 Timothy 5:17–18)

Discipleship Training
The basic theme of the training is to teach what Jesus taught, that which took men who were fishermen, tax collectors, etc., and changed them into reproductive Christians who reached their world with the Gospel in a demonstration of power.
